Delhi-Ajmer Vande Bharat Express ready to take off today; PM to green flag train shortly

Delhi-Ajmer Vande Bharat Express: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday will flag off Rajasthan’s first Vande Bharat Train, via video conferencing.

The Vande Bharat express will ply between Jaipur and Delhi cantt railway station. The service of Rajasthan’s Vande Bharat Express will regularise from April 13. It will run between Delhi cantt to Ajmer, with a halt at Jaipur, Alwar and Gurugram.

According to the latest schedule line up for the newest Vande Bharat Express, it will cover the distance from Delhi Cantt and Ajmer in 5 hours 15 minutes.

The present fastest train on this route, Shatabdi express, takes 6 hours 15 minutes. Therefore the travel time between Delhi and Ajmer will be reduced by 1 hour.

Ajmer-Delhi cantt vande Bharat express will be the world’s first semi-high speed passenger train on high-rise overhead electric (OHE) territory.

The train will inprove the connectivity for major tourists destinations in Rajasthan. It travels 100 kilometres per hour in 52 seconds. The peak speed of the train will be 160 km/h. Later this speed can be increased to 200 km per hour. Automatic doors, CCTV cameras, vacuum toilets, power backup, GPS will be the main facilities to be extended by the train. The train will also have seats that can rotate at an angle of 180 degrees. In addition, instead of the typical chains used in regular trains, you can employ the one-push stop option. It is noted that the express is entirely designed and built in India.

After the inauguration of the Vande Bharat express between the two cities, the train journey between Jodhpur and Jaipur would also be shortened. It generally takes six hours to travel between the two ancient cities. The trip time will be reduced to two hours once these trains are operational.

Timings:

Delhi Cantt at 6.40 pm and will arrive at Gurugram at 6.51 pm. It will reach Alwar at 8:17 pm and arrive at Jaipur at 10 pm and reach Ajmer at 11:55 pm.

Fare:

The fare of Vande Bharat Express ( Train No- 20978) between Delhi Cantonment to Ajmer will be ₹1250 which includes ₹308 as catering charges and ₹2270 in the Executive Class which includes ₹369 as catering charges. However, food choice is optional in this train and if passenger Opted for ‘No Food Option’ then catering charge will not be added in fare.
